Twin Falls is the commercial center for both south-central Idaho and northeastern Nevada and is 138 miles from Boise and approximately 80 miles south of Ketchum/Sun Valley.

Major employers now include the Dell Computers and Jayco, a recreational vehicle manufacturer. The tourist industry is also a major economic contributor to the Twin Falls economy.

History
Twin Falls was founded in 1904 and named after the waterfall on the Snake River.. It started as an agricultural community with irrigation canals feeding water to the many different crops that were grown at that time.
The Western and Northern Shoshone were the prominent tribes in the area and the first signs of human habitants date back more than 14,000 years.

The Twin Falls area's diverse geography, four seasons, and abundant water, create an abundance of outdoor activities. From skiing and snow boarding in the winter time to fishing, hiking and boating in the summer time, makes Twin Falls and the surrounding area a very active outdoor community.
