into a wood veneer. Once the wood veneer is reaches a certain thickness they are
cut and engineered with a groove or tongue on the edges, so that they can easily
be fitted together during the installation phrase.
There
are three ways engineered hardwood floors are manufactured. Rotary-peel, sliced-peel
and dry solid-sawn. The wood in rotary-peel and sliced peel process are boiled
in water at consistent temperature, whereas the dry solid sawn is dried slowly.
Other
Types of Flooring
Bamboo flooring (which
is technically not considered wood) can be installed very much like wood flooring.
Another type of flooring that is used in the floor industry is reclaimed (old
or used) lumber. This creates a unique appearance and has a hue cast of green.
